In 2006, Goldwater published an article by Robert Balling, an Arizona State University scientist who has received funding from Exxon and the coal industry to encourage his promotion of doubt over global warming.
In 2008, the Goldwater Institute fought against passage of a renewable energy standard in Arizona.
