Koch Industries Climate Denial Front Group

$164,161 from Koch foundations, 1997-2017

The American Spectator is a part of conservative media network with clear Koch influence and serves as a reliable platform for attacks on the scientific consensus of global warming and policy solutions to averting catastrophic climate change. The American Spectator, which receives money from Koch Brother foundations through its associated Foundation, is a regular platform for career climate science deniers such as Paul Chesser and Chris Horner of the Competitive Enterprise Institute and American Tradition Institute (see more on Chesser and Horner in DeSmogBlog’s database).

The American Spectator has criticized Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney for his recognition of global warming  and defended the Heartland Institute after a leak of its internal documents detailed how its climate denial campaign is being financed.
