Join us and top forest biologists on a visit to a typical Swedish managed forest landscape – large clear-cuts turned into monoculture plantations. Wander torn-up top soil, gaze at hectares of industrial devastation of what used to be forests and hear from Sámi reindeer herders whose livelihoods have been affected by industrial logging. We will also make a stop in a natural continuity forest that has been slated for clearcutting.
And of course, “fika” will be served.
Just like the official forest excursion bus, the bus to see the REAL Swedish forestry leave from outside of the Wood Hotell at 07:45, May 17.
We expect the tour to take no longer than 2.5 hours. Afterwards, if you wish, we can bring you back to the site of the official field visit, which is scheduled to continue until the afternoon. Otherwise we will bring you back to the hotel or to the airport.
