Greenpeace South Asia is a newly established regional office which is at the initial stage of development with an interesting portfolio of the countries. 

The Regional Engagement Communications Officer develops, implements, and evaluates the communication strategies, ensuring audience centric, innovative, and creative media outreach and online engagement across various platforms for GPSA. 

The role includes writing, editing and disseminating effective communication materials consistent with internal identity guidelines; networking with media, GPSA supporters, online communities, and staff; researching and implementing digital services for campaigning; and managing projects for multimedia content and engagement tools.

We are looking for a creative mind to join us in supporting our engagement communications team, creating, reviewing and reaching out to various audiences through different types of media. We believe people gain seniority and expertise on the job, what really matters is the soft skills and openness to learn

and work collaboratively with the team. Therefore, someone who has a few of these is well suited to exceed in this role: 

In this role you will: 

● Lead the development and implementation of audience centric, integrated content plans, working closely with Programme staff. 

● Working closely with the project team, conceptualize, write, edit, and distribute effective communications materials 

● Plan and execute documentation and content plans for on-location assignments and response work, and produce content such as articles, scripts, and blogs on-location as required. 

● Develop and maintain strong relationships with print, broadcast and online journalists, editors and other news decision-makers via media visits either virtually or in person, informal briefings, media forums, information provision, etc. in order to encourage them to view Greenpeace as a credible provider of climate & environmental news and commentary. 

● Collaborate and align with the communications team to plan and execute both proactive and reactive media relations, including media events and responses to media inquiries as required. 

● Set timelines and deliver strategic content plans for the Campaigns. 

● Ensure timely reporting according to GPSA reporting requirements. 

● With the Communications team, generate year-end communications multimedia report and analysis 

● Show a deep understanding of GPSA’s identity, editorial and legal standards, ensuring adherence to, and advocating, best practice and innovation in your approaches and production work. 

● Ensure the delivery and implementation of Communications strategies and plans are in compliance with all relevant policies and guidelines. 

● Identify KPIs and metrics, ensuring they align and contribute to the country’s integrated supporter journey and campaign objectives. 

● Contribute to monthly and quarterly communications and program performance / KPI reports.
