Job Title: Media Analyst Consultant: Insightful Reporting

OVERALL PURPOSE

The Media Analyst Consultant is responsible for supporting Greenpeace MENA in Media and Social Media listening and providing a comprehensive analysis report on narrative and audience understanding. The consultant will analyze media coverage and social media discourse before and after campaigns and deliver a full report to inform strategic decision-making.

The person will be working on reports that can feed into Greenpeace MENA’s engagement plans for current and future campaigns.

OBJECTIVES

Analysis Report: Provide a comprehensive analysis report on narrative and audience understanding. The report must include the following key areas:

Researching and Identifying key narratives, frames, messages, active players, and top voices

Monitoring and tracking trends and sentiments in media and public perception

Analyzing media clippings and social media conversations

Presenting key findings and recommendations            

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

Educational Qualifications

● A bachelor’s degree in media, digital communication, Marketing, communications, or relative experience

Experience & skills

● A minimum of 5 years of relevant, proven experience in media analysis, social media monitoring, or related fields is preferred.

Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret media content, social media data, and narrative trends.

Media Monitoring Expertise: Experience in media monitoring and analysis, with a solid understanding of the media landscape and coverage patterns in the MENA region.

Social Media Proficiency: Familiarity with social media platforms, listening, and analytics, and extracting meaningful insights from social media.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, distilling complex information into clear and concise reports and presentations.

Environmental knowledge: Understanding environmental issues is good to have.

Personal competencies

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic & English

● Good attention to detail

● Ability to work effectively and creatively and be calm under pressure.
