Description:

The Ummah For Earth project at Greenpeace MENA is seeking an Intern to provide tailored support to the Campaigns work. This will allow the intern to develop new skills and gain hands-on experience in the following areas: Campaigns, Faith-Based Campaigning, Alliance’s work, and Outreach.

Ummah for Earth is a faith-based climate alliance of 45+ organizations and individual allies worldwide. We have been focusing on empowering communities and local environmental initiatives, shedding light on the intersection between Islamic faith and climate action, and encouraging and helping Muslims and others to raise their voices for the well-being of our common home.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

The intern will support the Campaigner and Global Outreach Coordinator with the following responsibilities:

  • Following up on logistics for the alliance’s on-ground meetings
  • Updating the Database of Allies and JEDIS
  • Supporting in creating and writing Campaigns-Related documents
  • Contributing to team meetings
  • Supporting administrative tasks
  • Facilitating and following up on all the Ummah For Earth’s internal and cluster meetings
  • Other tasks as required

Requirements:

  • The ability to meet deadlines is vital
  • Strong knowledge of the environmental scene in the MENA region is a plus
  • Ability to work with large amounts of information and attention to detail

Qualifications:

  • Education: University degree in environmental studies, social sciences or other related fields.
  • Language: Strong verbal and written communication skills in both Arabic & English; French is a plus.

It also allows them to enhance their educational experience through practical work assignments, thereby developing skills that will be useful for their career and future employment.

Our internships are meant for students or recent graduates who have completed their studies less than 2 years ago.
