منظمة “السلام الأخضر-غرينبيس” تتحرّك أمام واحدة من كبرى المحطات للطاقة الشمسية في عمان
عمان- 16 آب 2014: لأن من المهم اثبات لأصحاب القرار ان هناك أكثر من 20 ألف أردني صوّت على عريضة الكترونية تطالب بإيقاف الخطط النووية الخطرة واستبدالها بمصادر طاقة متجددة ونظيفة، قرر متطوعو منظمة “السلام الأخضر- غرينبيس” بإطلاق حملة سلمية من أمام واحدة من كبرى المحطات للطاقة الشمسية في جنوب عمان. والمحطة هي مثال واضح للإتجاه العالمي الجديد الذي يقوم على تحوّل المحطات المركزية الكبرى لتوليد الكهرباء في الماضي إلى نظام لامركزي ومستقل.
وضع متطوعو المنظمة راية كبيرة غطت مساحة هائلة من السطح الذي تتواجد فيه محطة الطاقة الشمسية، وقد كتب على الراية اشارة استبدال الطاقة النووية الخطرة بالطاقة الشمسية النظيفة، وقد التقطوا صوراً جويّة كتذكار للنشاط. والصور تصلح ان تكون دليلاً حسّياً يمكن استخدامه بوجه أصحاب القرار، للدلالة على حجم الأصوات الكثيرة التي تطالب بالعدول عن الخطط النووية تماماً كحجم تلك الراية الكبيرة.
وقال المسؤول الإقليمي لمتطوعي منظمة السلام الأخضر في العالم العربي، عمر قبعين: “من الواضح ان الإستثمارات الأخيرة تتجه نحو مصادر الطاقة المتجددة، وتعتبر الطاقة الشمسية المصدر الأكثر نمواً بين هذه المصادر. بحيث لم تعد التكنولولجيا اليوم تشكل عائقاً أو تحديا أمامنا”. وأكمل:”ان كل ما نحتاجه الآن هو وجود رؤية جديّة وطاقم سياسي يدعم ويتبنى خطط الإنتقال الى الطاقة النظيفة، كيّ يستطيع كلّ مواطن توليد طاقته الخاصة، ويكون جزءاً من الحل لا من المشكلة”.
ويشار الى ان منظمة السلام الأخضر- غرينبيس قد قامت سابقاً بتحرّكات سلميّة عدّة طالبت الحكومة بضرورة إيقاف الخطط النووية في البلاد، وبدورها أعلنت الحكومة في بداية السنة الحالية انها لن تقوم بأيّ خطة نووية قبل 20 شهراً، لأنهم يحتاجون القيام بدراستين تقنية واقتصادية قبل اصدار أيّ قرار مماثل. الا ان المعلومات الأخيرة تشير الى ان مجلس الوزراء وافق على اتفاقية تطوير المحطة النووية الأردنية مع شركة “روس آتوم” الروسية وان الاتفاقية سيوقعها الطرفان في موسكو مطلع شهر أيلول المقبل. وبذلك تبدو الحكومة غير صادقة بقراراتها أمام الشعب.
وقد أطلقت المنظمة العام الماضي دراسة تشير الى ان الأردن تمتلك قدرة هائلة في الوصول الى استقلاليتها في الطاقة، وذلك عبر استخدام المصادر المتجددة التي ستوفر لها الطاقة بنسبة 60 مرة أكثر من مجمل احتياج الأردن للكهرباء. وقد أظهرت في دراسة اقتصاديّة حول الموضوع ان الأردن تستطيع توفير 100% من مجمل احتياجاتها للكهرباء مع حلول العام 2050، وستوفر بذلك 80 مليار دولار أميركي.

More than 20k Jordanian voice calls to stop nuclear plans
Greenpeace mobilized in front one of the biggest Solar Plant in Amman
Amman- 18 August 2014: Because it is very important to prove to the decision makers that there are more than 20k Jordanian who voted on an online petition to stop dangerous nuclear plans and to replace them with clean and renewable sources of energy, Greenpeace Volunteers launched a peaceful campaign in front of one of the biggest solar stations in South Amman. The solar plant represents the global trend of moving away from big centralized electricity generating stations of the past to a more exclusive system of decentralized electricity generation.
The Volunteers laid a big banner on the roof that faced the solar plant, where it covered a huge area of the surface. The message written on the banner reflects a public demand to switch the symbol of the dangerous nuclear energy with the symbol of the clean solar energy; and then after that they took aerial photos as a memento for the activity. The photos will be used as evidence in front of the decision-makers, to show them the large number of voices who are calling to stop nuclear plans similar to the size of the big banner.
Omar Qubain, Arab World regional Volunteers’ coordinator at Greenpeace said: “It is clear that the global investments’ trend is moving toward renewable energy sources, and solar energy is the best developed resource between the other resources. Technology is an obstacle or a challenge nowadays.” He added: “All what we need now is a vision and serious plans from our politicians to adopt the transition to clean energy, where regular citizens can generate their own power and be part of the solution rather than part of the problem”.
Greenpeace had several moves previously to demanded the government to stop nuclear plans in the country, and the government announced beginning 2014 that they will not go in any nuclear plan before 20 months, because they need to do a technical and economic study before taking such decision. However, the recent information indicates that the Council of Ministers approved a development agreement for the Jordanian nuclear plant with the Russian company “Rosatom” and that the two sides will sign the agreement between them in Moscow early next month of September. The government appears insincere in its decisions toward the citizens.
To note that Greenpeace released last year a study that demonstrates Jordan’s potential to achieve full energy independence through renewable sources can technically provide sixty times more than Jordan’s electricity consumption in 2050. Economic modelling results show that a target of 100% renewable energy by 2050 can be attained and can lead to total accumulated savings of approximately $80 billion (or $12 billion in present value terms), while providing 30,000 new jobs.
