عمّان، 28 نوفمبر 2013 – نشطاء السلام الأخضر وفنانون وهواة الموسيقى يجتمعون في قلب مدينة عمان الخميس لأمسية موسيقية مجانية، لرفض البرنامج النووي الأردني.
نظّم ناشطو السلام الأخضر بالتعاون مع فرقة أوتوستراد الأردنية ذات الشعبية الكبيرة حفلة موسيقية مجانية يوم الخميس، لإظهار تنامي شعبية الحراك ضد البرنامج النووي الأردني. اجتمع الجمهور الشاب في فناء مركز الجدل الثقافي لإظهار دعمهم وإخلاصهم للقضية.
أقيمت هذه الفعالية كجزء من عريضة السلام الأخضر البحر المتوسط لرئيس الوزراء الأردني، من أجل إيقاف خطط إنشاء مفاعل نووي أردني، وتقول مسؤولة حملات المناخ والطاقة لمنظمة غرينبيس البحر المتوسط صفاء الجيوسي: “إلى الآن أكثر من 16 ألف شخص وقعوا العريضة، لضحد الادعاءات التي تقول أن أقلية من الناس ضد البرنامج النووي” كما أكدت الجيوسي.
تهدف هذه الفعالية إلى نشر رسالة أن بإمكان الأردن الاعتماد على الطاقة المتجدة بنسبة 100٪. ويقول أحد أعضاء وسام فرقة أوتوستراد وسام القطاونة “نحن هنا لإظهار أن أجيال الغد لن تقبل الإرث السام لقرارات اليوم، وأن بإمكاننا استخدام طاقتي الشمس والرياح النظيفتين لحماية اقتصادنا”. ودعا الجمهور إلى التوقيع على العريضة:

يتساءل الناشط عمر قبعين عن سياسة الطاقة الأردنية قائلاً “الطاقة النووية لا نحتاجها ولا نريدها في الأردن”، في إشارة لدراسة أجرتها السلام الأخضر البحر المتوسط هذا العام أثبتت أن مصادر الطاقة المتجددة يمكنها تغطية احتياجات الأردن من الطاقة 60 مرة بحلول عام 2050.
Amman, November 28, 2013 – Greenpeace activists, artists and music enthusiasts gathered at the heart of downtown Amman on Thursday for an evening of free music, rejecting Jordan’s nuclear program.
Greenpeace in collaboration with Autostrad, the much-loved local Jordanian band, organized a free concert on Thursday to demonstrate the growing popularity of Jordan’s anti-nuclear movement. At the courtyard of the Jadal Cultural House, the young audience crowded in show of support and dedication to the cause.
The event was held to jump-start the ongoing Greenpeace petition calling on the Prime Minister to halt all plans regarding the establishment of domestic nuclear reactors, according to Greenpeace Jordan Climate and Energy Campaigner Safa Jayoussi. “So far up to 16 thousand people have logged on and signed our petition, refuting claims that only a minority of people stand against the nuclear program,” Jayousi noted.
With this activity Greenpeace aimed to spread the message that a 100% renewable energy future for Jordan is feasible. “We are here to demonstrate that tomorrows generation will not accept the toxic legacy of today’s government. We can use safe renewables such as solar and wind power to save our economy” Autostrad Band member said to the audience asking them to sign the Greenpeace Petition www.greenpeace.org/jordanfirst.
Omar Qubain, Greenpeace Volunteers Coordinator in Charge, questioned Jordan’s official energy policy “nuclear power is neither needed nor wanted in Jordan.” Qubain stated, referring to a study released by Greenpeace earlier this year that proves renewable energy resources, especially solar power, can provide 60 times more than Jordan’s projected electricity consumption in 2050.
