غرينبيس في حركةٍ عالميةٍ تطال ستّ قاراتٍ للمطالبة بعالمٍ خالٍ من الوقود الأحفوري
13 آذار/مارس 2017: أطلقت مجموعة من المنظمات البيئية غير الحكومية حول العالم أكبر حركة جماهيرية عالمية للمطالبة بالتحرّر من النفط والفحم والغاز، وتسريع الانتقال إلى حقبة الطاقة المتجدّدة. لهذه الغاية، أطلقت منظمة غرينبيس المتوسط-العالم العربي اليوم، إلى جانب منظمات بيئية أخرى في الشرق الأوسط، لعبة الكترونية فريدة من نوعها موجّهة إلى الجمهور العربي.
وتتميّز اللعبة المتوفرة باللغات الثلاث ببساطتها وسهولة استخدامها، ويستطيع الجمهور العربي التعرّف من خلالها على حركة BreakFree. طوال مراحل اللعب، سيكون اللاعب مُحفَّزاً لاتّخاذ تحركات بيئيةٍ على الإنترنت، تتوجّه إلى وزراء أو وزارات الطاقة في العالم العربي، لمطالبتهم بالتحرّر من الوقود الأحفوري واعتماد الطاقة المتجدّدة.
في هذا الإطار، قال فادي جدعون، مسؤول الحملات الالكترونية في غرينبيس المتوسط/العالم العربي: “تقدّم اللعبة مقاربةً إبداعيةً لحركة BreakFree وحراك المناخ في العالم، وهي تصيب ثلاثة أهداف: زيادة الوعي البيئي، وتعزيز سلوكيات الحراك البيئي، والتسلية. ويقوم اللاعب باتّخاذ إجراءاتٍ مختلفةٍ على الإنترنت، يستطيع من خلالها أن يعرض للعالم الصورةَ الحقيقيةَ لصناعة الوقود الأحفوري، التي تهدّد احتياجاتنا الأكثر أساسية، بدءاً من المياه النظيفة ووصولاً إلى الهواء النظيف، وأن ينشط إلى جانب آخرين لتحقيق انتقالٍ عادلٍ إلى الحلول المتجدّدة”.
وتمهيداً لإطلاق اللعبة، نشرت غرينبيس شريط فيديو دعائي تعريفي، جرى تصويره في ثلاث مدن عربية هي بيروت والقاهرة ودبي.
وعلى الصعيد العالمي فقد انطلقت في نهاية هذا الأسبوع مجموعة نشاطات، فقد نزل عدد من راكبي الدراجات الهوائية في كرواتيا، في أول تعبئةٍ مناخيةٍ كبيرةٍ تشهدها البلاد. كما نُظّمَت في الفيليبين اليوم مسيرةٌ لتحالف مجموعات المجتمع المدني والمجتمعات المحلية المتضرّرة من الفحم، توجّهت إلى مقرّ إحدى أكبر شركات الوقود الأحفوري. هذا وتشكّل مناجم الفحم، ومصانع الطاقة العاملة بالفحم، والتلوّث المؤذي الناجم عنها، محطّ تركيز الشعوب في مطالبتها بمستقبلٍ للطاقة أنظف وصحّي أكثر، بدءاً من التشيلي وتايلندا، وصولاً إلى كوريا الجنوبية وبولندا.
في هذا السياق، قال أوغستين ماجيو، المتحدّث بإسم حركة BreakFree: “صفّارات الإنذار المحذّرة من خطر التغيّر المناخي تدوّي في أرجاء العالم، بعد أن أطلقها حرق الوقود الأحفوري. يكفي أن ننظر إلى الجليد البحري الآخذ في الزوال عند القطبين، أو الجفاف الحادّ في افريقيا، أو الحيد المرجاني العظيم الذي يكافح من أجل البقاء، لنرى الضرر الذي يتسبّب به ذلك. لهذا السبب يطالب الناس في كلّ مكان بضرورة اتّخاذ الإجراءات من قبل حكوماتهم والشركات التي لا تزال ترفض الابتعاد عن مصادر الطاقة القذرة التي تعرّض الكثير من الأرواح للخطر”.
حركة BreakFree ليست هيئة قانونية، ولا تهدف إلى إنشاء أي شخصية أو شبكة قانونية رسمية راسخة أو أي ائتلاف قانوني رسمي راسخ. هذه الحركة هي عبارة عن محطة سنوية عالمية يستطيع الناس من خلالها المشاركة في التحرّكات أو تنظيمها في أي مكان حول العالم.

Greenpeace part of a global movement spanning six continents, demands a world free from fossil fuels
Beirut – 13th March, 2017: A group of NGOs around the world kickstarted the largest global wave of people calling to break free from oil, coal and gas, and to accelerate the shift to an era of renewable energy. For this purpose, Greenpeace Mediterranean-Arab world along with other environmental organizations in the Middle East launched today a first of its kind online activism BreakFree Game, an addictive one touch game, available in Arabic, English and French.
Through playing, the Arab audience will be introduced to the BreakFree wave, whereby players take environmental online actions targeting Arab Energy ministers or ministries, asking them to break free from fossil fuels and embrace renewable energy.
Fadi Gedeon, Digital campaigner at Greenpeace Mediterranean-Arab world said: “The game will present an innovative approach for the climate activism movement. It has three main goals: Raising environmental awareness, fostering activism behaviors while being entertaining. Through different online actions, the user will expose to the world the real image of the fossil fuel industry, that is threatening our most basic needs, from clean water to pure air, and will join forces with other to bring about a just transition towards renewable solutions.”
In order to launch the game, Greenpeace has released a teaser/revealer campaign, with videos filmed in three Arab cities: Beirut, Cairo and Dubai.
Globally during the weekend; in the country’s first big climate mobilisation, a mass cycle ride took place in Croatia, while in the Philippines today, a coalition of civil society groups and coal-impacted communities marched on the headquarters of a major fossil fuel company. From Chile to Thailand, South Korea to Poland, coal mines, coal-fired power plants and their harmful pollution is the focus of people’s call for a cleaner and healthier energy future.
Agustin Maggio, a spokesperson for the Break Free movement, said: “The warning lights of dangerous climate change are flashing around the world, triggered by the burning of fossil fuels Look to the vanishing sea ice at both poles, the severe drought in Africa or the Great Barrier Reef fighting for its life to see the damage this is already causing. This is why people everywhere are demanding action from their governments and the corporations that are so far refusing to move away from the dirty energy sources which are putting so many lives at risk.”
Break Free is not a legal entity and is not intended to create any formal established legal personality, network or coalition. It is a platform through which people can take and create actions anywhere across the globe.
