باركت غرينبيس المتوسط لدبي على إتمام المرحلة الثانية من مجمع محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم للطاقة الشمسية القادر على مد نحو 50 ألف منزل بالطاقة الكهربائية. والمشروع الذي يمتد على مساحة 4.5 كيلومترات مربعة في الصحراء يضم مليونين و300 الف لوح شمسي.
قال مسؤول الحملات في غرينبيس المتوسط/العالم العربي جوليان جريصاتي: “يشكل مجمع محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم للطاقة الشمسية معلماً للطاقة المتجددة تماماً مثل مشروع “نور ورزازات” في المغرب، وسوف يساهم في تحقيق طموح دبي في التربع على عرش التكنولوجيا الخضراء”. وتابع: “يرسل هذا الإنجاز رسالة واضحة مفادها أن عصر النفط والطاقات القذرة شارف على النهاية حتى في البلدان المنتجة للوقود الأحفوري”.
وأضاف جريصاتي:”اننا نتوقع المزيد من دبي اذ انها تملك كل الإمكانيات التي تجعل منها أول دولة عربية تتبنى الانتقال الى ١٠٠٪ طاقة متجددة والتحرر كاملاً من الوقود الأحفوري في المستقبل القريب”.
مع اتمام كافة مشاريع “مجمع محمد بن راشد آل مكتوم للطاقة الشمسية” في العام 2030 ستشكل أكبر محطة مستقلة للطاقة الشمسية في العالم والتي تصل قدرتها الكهربائية حتى 5 آلاف ميغاوات.

Greenpeace congratulates Dubai on the new solar energy achievement
Greenpeace Mediterranean congratulates Dubai on the completion of the second phase of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Solar Park, which will power 50,000 homes thanks to 2.3 million solar panels spread over 4.5 square kilometres of desert.
Julien Jreissati, Arab World campaigner at Greenpeace Mediterranean said: “The Mohamed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Solar Park constitutes a renewable energy landmark just like Noor Ouarzazate in Morocco and will contribute in fulfilling Dubai’s ambition to become a green technology hub.” he continued: “This achievement sends a clear message that the era for oil and other dirty energies is coming to an end even in fossil fuel producing countries”
Jreissati concluded: “We expect even more from Dubai as it has the potential to be the first city in the Arab world to commit to 100% renewable energy and to completely break free from fossil fuel in the near future!”
When fully completed in 2030, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Solar Park projects will be the largest single site solar power plant in the world with a total capacity of 5,000 megawatt.
