New Delhi, September 29: The Constitution of India ensures the right to freedom of opinion and expression in a peaceful manner to every organization and individual in the country. Disagreement and criticism of the policies of the state are the basic ethos of a functioning democracy. We won’t be better off by shutting individuals and organizations that differ with the government views.

While we are not aware of the technical details of the allegation, we believe that Amnesty will defend themselves against the allegations.
