Toronto – In reaction to the Federal government approval of the controversial Bay du Nord oil project, Keith Stewart, Senior Energy Strategist at Greenpeace Canada said:
“Just two days ago, the UN Secretary General said that investing in new fossil fuel infrastructure is ‘immoral and economic madness.’ The only truly sane option is to phase out fossil fuels as quickly as possible while supporting communities, regions and workers through the transition. Today’s decision represents a triumph of the kind of politics that will only deepen the climate crisis and global addiction to planet-wrecking fossil fuels.”
