OTTAWA – In reaction to the election of a Liberal (minority) government, Keith Stewart, senior energy strategist with Greenpeace Canada, said:

“This was the first climate emergency election,” said Keith Stewart, senior energy strategist with Greenpeace Canada. “Canadians have sent a clear message, in the streets and in the voting booth, that they want the federal government to dramatically ramp up action against climate change. Now we have to keep the heat on our newly elected representatives to ensure that dealing with the climate emergency is at the centre of their agenda. This is why Greenpeace started a “spam-o-thon” last night to remind the PM that it isn’t enough to  declare a climate emergency, he has to act like it’s an emergency.”
