I’d like to donate my tax credit back to Greenpeace
Thank you for choosing to donate your tax credit. Your donation has already made an impact for the earth, and by donating your tax credit back to Greenpeace, you can make even more of a difference.
Recently, we saw a jarring reminder that our fight to protect the Earth is very real.
Greenpeace International and Greenpeace in the US have been hit with a penalty of more than US$660 million (or 1.15 billion NZ dollars) after a shocking court ruling in favour of fossil fuel company Energy Transfer. It threatens Greenpeace’s very existence in the US, and they are preparing to fight back.
This attack on Greenpeace is coming in the same year that we mark 40 years since the bombing of the Rainbow Warrior by French Government agents here in Tāmaki Auckland in 1985. The bombing was an act of state terror designed to stop Greenpeace from sending the Rainbow Warrior to protest nuclear testing in the Pacific.
It was meant to stop us, to instill fear, and to silence our voices, but it failed. Instead, our movement just grew stronger. The campaign to end nuclear testing was won.
Now, 40 years later, Big Oil companies like Energy Transfer are trying to intimidate us again – attempting to silence us, to stop us from speaking out against their destruction of our planet.
Donating your rebate to Greenpeace can help us strengthen our efforts at this crucial moment. We can’t do it without you.
