Nairobi, 16 January 2019 – Following the unfortunate terror attacks on Dusit D2 Hotel on 14 Riverside Drive, Greenpeace Africa Executive Director Njeri Kabeberi has said:
“We condemn in the strongest terms possible the cowardly acts of terrorism witnessed at the Dusit D2 Hotel. Greenpeace Africa would like to express its compassion and solidarity to the victims of this tragedy, their relatives and friends. We share in the grief of all those who are injured or mourning their kin.
“Scarcity of land and water, food insecurity exacerbated by climate change fuel breeding grounds for terrorist groups. We must stand together to fight social and environmental injustices to root out terrorism.
“We also take this opportunity to commend the courageous efforts of the security forces, the Kenya Red Cross, other ambulance support, hospitals and all those involved in the rescue operations. We urge all Kenyans to stay strong; this incident should not break Kenyans’ resilience and unity.”
